Amphus delivers direct replacement for Intel SPD6722

Driver Support: VG-469 (ISA-to-PC Card Controller)

Amphus does not directly provide drivers for Vadem PCMCIA controllers.   Amphus only provides sample drivers, which come with the VG-469 evaluation/development board.   To obtain drivers for your specific board, you should contact manufacturer of your PCMCIA board and request the right drivers for it.

The following steps should help anyone who wants to install the drivers on Windows based devices.

For Windows 95/98/NT users, follow the on-screen instructions:

  • Select or double-click the "Control Panel" icon,
  • Click "Add New Hardware" icon,
  • Click "No" if asked "if you want Windows to search",
  • Click "PCMCIA Socket" in the "Hardware Types" window,
  • Click "Vadem" in the "Manufacturers" window,
  • Click "Vadem PCIC compatible PCMCIA Controller" in the "Model" window.
  • Click "Next" again,
  • Click "Finish" button.

For Windows 2000 users, follow the on-screen instructions:

  • Select or double-click the "Control Panel" icon,
  • Click "Add New Hardware" icon,
  • Click "Add/Troubleshoot a device" then click "Next",
  • Click "Add a new device" then click "Next",
  • Click "No" then click "Next",
  • Click "PCMCIA adapters" then click "Next",
  • Click "Intel" then click "Next",
  • Click "Next" again,
  • Click "Finish" button.

For Windows XP users, the operating system will automatically detect the VG-469 presence and install the "Intel PCIC compatible PCMCIA controller" driver.

Special Note:

Microsoft alerted users about 16-bit PC-Card devices that might stop working correctly after installation of Service Pack 3 (SP3) for Windows 2000 users.   VG-469 was initially affected but the driver loading problem had been resolved. Please send email to Amphus Support if you encountered any further problem.
